Nasal congestion (nasal congestion) is a health problem that occurs when the mucous membranes of the nose become inflamed due to bacteria and allergens. It can be triggered by a lot of different things, and can be disruptive enough, to prevent people from carrying out their normal daily activities.

Often a stuffy nose indicates that you are getting sick with the flu, cold or other respiratory illness. A stuffy nose can also be triggered by allergies, changes in the weather and pollution. Whatever the cause, it is a very unpleasant problem to suffer from because it prevents you from breathing normally and can even cause bad headaches.

What are the main causes of a stuffy and runny nose?

As we have already mentioned, stuffy nose is a common symptom of colds, flu and allergies. It is important to first find out why your nose has stopped so that you can find the best way to fight it.

  • Colds: Colds are one of the main causes of stuffy nose. When you suffer from a cold, your nose starts to get irritated and it is not uncommon to sneeze as often as every 5 minutes.
  • Allergies: People can have many different types of allergies, which can cause nose problems. For example, many people are allergic to dust, pollen, soil or animal hair. If you sneeze a lot, try to consider whether it is actually due to an allergy.
  • Changing weather: Rapid changes in the weather can lower the effectiveness of your body’s defenses or trigger allergic reactions. A stuffy nose can also occur after you have been exposed to strong winds.

If you know the reason why your nose has stopped, you can start treatment, whatever it is with allergy medicine, nasal spray or something completely different. The best thing, of course, is to address the root of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. But with that said, stuffy nose can be really uncomfortable. It can be nice to be able to relieve the pressure so that air comes through, so you can get on with your daily chores. Therefore, we share here a good alternative method to relieve stuffy nose in a single minute.

This method is really good and may even replace nasal sprays and pills – it is definitely worth a try!  It is an easy, healthy and effective way to relieve stuffy nose.

It may sound too good to be true, but a minute is actually all it takes to relieve a stuffy nose, thanks to an acupressure technique derived from traditional Chinese medicine. This simple technique can actually help relieve many different types of pain while helping to open your nasal cavity.

Acupressure is an effective method that involves applying pressure using the fingertips on certain parts of the body and then releasing. This should be done three times a day to see results.

  • Pressure point 1. Ear flap: Gently massage an ear flap 10 times.
  • Pressure point 2. Behind the earlobe, at the bottom and just below the cartilage: Press and release 10 times, without putting pressure directly on the cartilage.
  • Pressure point 3. Over the bridge of the nose, between the eyebrows: Apply light pressure to this part of the face for a minute. This is especially useful to ensure that the sinuses do not become inflamed or dry.
  • Pressure point 4. Under the cheeks, directly parallel to the pupil of the eye: Press and release in this part of your face. This pressure point helps open up the sinuses to combat clogging.
  • Pressure point 5. The lower part of the nostrils: Place the fingertips under the nostrils and gently press in a circular motion. Repeat 10 times.
