It is common to take our hands up to the eyes to rub in them, remove an eyelash hair or something from our eye. Still  , touching your eyes with dirty hands can cause serious infections.

Most of the time we touch our eyes without even being aware of it.

It is very common to come home from an exhausting day at work and be so tired that you want to take off your contact lenses. One should not forget to wash hands no matter what.

This is important because the liquid used in contact lens containers does not remove all the bacteria, only the superficial ones.

When washing hands to remove your contact lenses, it is important to  use a neutral soap bar and warm water.

The liquid soaps tend to leave a layer consisting of chemicals. This can leave residue on one’s contact lenses. Over time, these residues accumulate and the contact lenses do not last as long as they should.
